Semasa melakukan latihan seperti squat, deadlift atau pull-up, otot menggunakan glycogen iaitu simpanan tenaga yang datang daripada karbohidrat. Jika glycogen terlalu rendah, latihan akan terasa lebih berat dan keletihan datang lebih cepat.
